The Vision & Maker

The Cotton Crier™ was built on the rigorous standards its founder, Michael J Maione, demands for himself.

As a sole proprietor, self-taught visual artist, and the exclusive designer behind the brand, Michael brings a distinctly hands-on approach to every facet of the business. Operating out of New Jersey, USA, this brand serves as the culmination of everything he has learned across decades of creative work. From conceptualizing the initial outdoor-inspired designs to building out the storefront, every decision flows through a single, dedicated creator. There is no corporate board or outsourced design team; it is solely one individual's vision translated into an authentic apparel business.

With The Cotton Crier™, Michael refused to chase fleeting trends or churn out soulless, throwaway fashion. The singular goal was to design everyday clothing that feels like home the moment it is put on.

Starting an independent brand from scratch is never a walk in the park.
